Sidcot School is a thriving independent coeducational day and boarding school situated in 150 acres of beautiful countryside on the edge of the Mendip Hills, yet close to the cities of Bristol and Bath. Sidcot offers a blend of excellent traditional and state-of-the-art facilities to its 500 pupils aged between three and 18 years.
We have a modern learning resource centre and sixth form centre; a first class sports centre and swimming pool; 20 acres of playing fields; a riding centre; a very modern science block; and excellent computing facilities. Our new junior school building opened in 2006 and a new Creative and Performing Arts Centre opened in 2009, with excellent facilities for music, visual arts and drama.
Sidcot shares the characteristics that make all Quaker schools distinctive. The respect accorded to all members of the community encourages a self-discipline which creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The equality and dignity extends to every member of the community - staff and pupils alike - and every child is valued for what they have to offer. Quakers are international in outlook and at Sidcot we value international links made by students from 20 nationalities.
We now offer the International Baccalaureate alongside our A levels. This enables students to take advantage of the broader level of subjects in the IB Programme as well as developing study skills that will really help them at university. The IB Diploma has been successfully offered internationally for 40 years and is therefore tried and tested and recognised by top universities the world over. We are proud to be an IB World School.
